Yellow and black stripes, quite big

I found it unusual to see this wasp in the begining of december to roam in our dining room ... Well, i guess times change.

Wow. They make such big nests? This really is awful. Yeah, I've seen them catch and kill for eating as well. Really brutal sight. There were many of them here a few years ago-too many. Hope it gets better at your place and you get rid of most of them! :)
These are truly awful in our part of the world. They were introduced about 20 years ago. Now they make giant nests the size of a car. I have seen them catch other insects mid-flight, cut the head off before landing, and suck the juices out in seconds. Our local insects have never known such terror.
