Species ID Suggestions

Also characteristic of the P. coelestis is the "Y" shape dorsal pattern which I believe the new species doesn't have - http://www.nudipixel.net/similarities/8/ and http://www.seaslugforum.net/find/phylcoel
Thanks, ShaumingLo, I did not know this detail :-)
The pattern is almost looks the same but the body of the PANCAKE is flat and thinner.
Yes Marta, saw that article when it came out. There are actually lots of new finds here in the area and I'm pretty sure there will be more. Unfortunately I really don't know that much to tell how they are different from each other at this point. Rely more on the experts on the web for ID. But I do believe they use DNA for that :-)
Now that you show one of the Phyllidia, NG shows that there was a new species found this year in Philippines: the pancake sea slug. http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2011/06/pictures/110628-philippines-new-species-deep-sea-ocean-rare-animals-sharks-nudibranchs/#/philippines-new-species-rare-animals-sea-pancake-nudibranch_37085_600x450.jpg I wonder how did they tell the difference from other already known species (DNA?) because this pancake does not look so different from other common warted nudis. Do you know how are they different?
