Description:

Citrus weevil Compsus sp. belongs to order Coleoptera, family Curculionidae, subfamily Otiorrhynchinae and with other species of this family are considered pests of economic importance in the production
citrus in Central and South America.

Notes:

Larval burrow into the soil and feed on parts radicals.
The number of immature stages can vary from 35 to 45 immature stages per tree.
Yield losses cause damage to the fruit size and quality.
Adults up to the leaves and feed on fruits and buds.
Ceratosysis spread of diseases, Rossellini, Phytopthora which causes anthracnose or severe defoliation, fruit drop and small inflorescences, markedly affecting yields.
