American robin

Alice, we see them all year round. We are having a really mild winter (that's actually a rock behind him that looks like snow!) but last year they stayed all through the arctic weather we experienced & we put out plenty of food as there was so little natural food around for them

Thanks Dana, we have just under 9 acres which is mainly mowed so ideal for them! We put up 2 boxes last June & both were occupied within hours so I'm hopeful! I wouldn't object to tree swallows either, & luckily we don't seem to get house wrens! We're putting up the purple martin condos this weekend so fingers crossed we will get some interest there too - our neighbors have a successful colony so we may be lucky!

Yes Dana, we have dozens of bluebirds around at the moment so I am throwing a handful of mealworms out most days to encourage them to hang around & hopefully breed (we have put up 7 boxes for them). The robins have noticed & are taking advantage too!
