Field Notes

Description:

At dusk, in the foothills of Colorado a herd of about 20 - 40 mule deer forage. The interesting thing about this herd is that it was primarily young deer (1-2 years old maybe) and only 2 or 3 adult females. A couple young males lingered in the distance.

Habitat:

Grassy meadow at the foot of the foothills amongst large slabs of sandstone. 5,000 - 6,000 ft elev.
