Description:

Golden color, growing in clusters, largest about 1-1/2 inches in diameter.

Habitat:

Growing in an open area; state park in SW Pennsylvania

Gymnopilus sounds good as well. It would depend on the spore print. And yes, I guess I knew it's Hypholoma now--I tend to revert to the more familiar.
Shebe ... Your suggestion does look like a better match. Just for the record, Paemateloma are now called Hypholoma.
wow, Armillaria mellea takes a lot of different forms! Ours are at least more scaley on the cap. This looks more like a Naemateloma.
I'm still catching up on some old spottings. This photo was taken in August.
