Description:
Although the leaves are grass-like (and despite the common name), this is not a grass. Lovely yellow flowers, semi-evergreen foliage, and drought-resistance make this native wildflower a good choice for xeriscaping, and native/natural/wildlife gardens.
Habitat:
USA: AL , AR , DE , FL , GA , KY , LA , MD , MS , NC , OH , OK , SC , TN , TX , VA , WV
Native Distribution: Delaware to Ohio, south to Georgia, Texas, and Mexico.
Native Habitat: Dry, open sandy sites.
