Field Notes

Description:

White with patterns of black on the wings.

Habitat:

Forest. Pressed against tree bark.

Notes:

Difficult to see when it's up against the tree bark, which helps it camouflage itself. Larval food plants include alder, birch, black cherry, maple, poplar. Found at Barbara A. Beiser Field Station.
