Small mantis. 2 inches approx.

Notes:

Was in a defensive position due to a very nearby anole lizard.

I agree Dave, it was the outstretched wings that had me looking a little harder to identify. I have never seen one with wings extended either and wasn't sure due to that. Cheers back at you, Apple
Whoops. Apple beat me to it by a minute. Definitely looks like G.grisea to me but I had never seen one with its wings extended before. There are some pics on bugguide.net that match the wings, though. Cheers, Dave
I am not positive but it seems like a grizzled mantis to me. They are a species in Florida. And come in great camouflage.
