Thnx a lot Leuba..i made a mistake..
This looks like an Indian squirrel - very common in Indian suburbs. The Chipmunk appears to have shorter snouts, streaks on side of face and around eyes as well. They also have orange/pale reddish brown fur on belly and throat. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chipmunk
