Field Notes

Description:

This lovely flowering shrub was found by me, Annika Lehew, near Panera in Newtown, VA, sometime in early to mid August. I saw it around noon, but it has been there for months and is just now starting to wilt.
At first, I had no clue what it was. But after consulting my cousin - who has his degree in botany as well as marine botany - I discovered it was a Hydrangea plant.

Habitat:

The hydrangea can grow all over the world, from China to the Eastern United States. But here in Virginia, it can be found in the Blue Ridge Mountains and near Panera's, apparently.
