Field Notes

Description:

Red leaves, red calyx (!?) everything of red shade. Five florets (might be florets only) arise from a single tubular calyx. Each floret has a single stigma and five stamens attached to the five tiny petals.

Habitat:

Spotted this on the trees of evergreen forests of Western ghats.
Its an Epiphyte for sure. Grows from minimum 6 feet height from the ground, on the host tree.

Notes:

my camera is poor, so as my photography :)
Unable to capture and share the real beauty of hundreds of such red flowers and my excitement for finding them
