Description:

This is a partially parasitic plant that steals nutrients from the roots of nearby plants. The first time I saw these plants I thought the flowers were just the buds, but on closer inspection you can see that is the full flower.

Habitat:

Grassy, densely vegetated trail overlooking the ocean
