Field Notes

Description:

Carneau, along with other varieties of domesticated pigeons, are all descendants from the Rock Pigeon (Columba livia). The breed is known for large size and suitability for squab production. (Wikipedia)

Habitat:

originated in northern France and southern Belgium

Notes:

It was the only "inhabitante" of the tower of a castle ruin (and looked pretty prowed).

I'm not 100% sure about the ID, but it's the most closesed I could find.

Rock Dove

Columba livia

Not a Rock Dove. Real Rock Doves are pretty hard to find these days, most guys you see are hybrids. This is either some feral dove, or some bred show hybrid, I think
Thansk Liam. Are you sure abotu the ID. At Wiki I can read as the Rock Dove has blue/grey colours and not this reddish colour.
