Sorry to jump in late here, but Scott and Carolina managed to explain things better than I probably could have! :) Thanks to everyone for helping a new PN spotter get started. Pabloo, welcome aboard! We look forward to seeing more of your contributions!
Hi All. The admonishment to avoid pure landscapes is valid. Habitats are defined in terms of the organisms they support, e.g. "vulture habitat". So the inclusion of habitat in PN is a natural extension of species spottings and can be included if accompanied by the hosted organism in the series. I am going to change this spotting to "bird" because "other" does not mean landscape but "other organism" not covered by PN's organism categories. I am also moving the descriptive words from the Scientific name., which is for Genus species (subspecies). So yes Pabloo the advice given is correct, this spotting should concentrate on the bird (as the most obvious organism).
PS: I usually try to post the habitat shots with some wildlife or plant spotting
And I was pointed to the FAQ, when asking something similar (like why a landscape). I'll post this to PN's Facebook page. Maybe we will get an answer there :)
When I started at Project noah, I shared a photo of a mountain and I was told by a Noah ranger that I should remove the spotting, so I asked him why? and he told me that Noah is to shere specific organisms otherwise the site would be full with landscapes phos
@Carolina & Ismael I thought so too at first (about wildlife). But if you read the Noah description closely, it says: "The name “Noah” is an acronym that stands for networked organisms and habitats" http://www.projectnoah.org/faq :-) -------------- Wonderful photos!
Beautiful place ! - do you know what bird it is? - a bird of prey ??
Super! Me encantara ver la fauna y flora de Puerto Rico :) Es mas, existe una misión que te podría gustar: http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/6530321
@LizzyHiggins, Thakns I hope you get to visit the Island much more in depth! @Carolina, Entiendo el propósito del portal pero quise participar de todos modos. He sometido una foto de una araña. Intentaré subir más especies si mi lente me lo permite.
venespablo those are beautiul pictures but you must only upload photos of specific living organisms I suggest you to keep the first photo with the bird and remove the rest
Hola Pablo :) Aunque este es un hermoso paisaje, estamos mas interesados en ver especies de fauna y flora, como la ave de la primera foto. De casualidad no tienes mas fotos de ella?
Ah the opposite side of the island that I was not lucky enough to visit when I was in San Juan. It's beautiful, thank you for posting this!
