This one has unusually large legs. the hoverfly looks similar except for that. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/7945488

It doesn't look like this guy could hover, at least not as well as the hoverflies could.

Could be a hover fly...could you comment on the way he flew? - hover flies dart about unlike common house flies.
