Thanks Lisa! The environment it was in was heavily shaded with tons of forest litter all around. If you ever get the chance to visit Ohio, Fort Hill and Hocking Hills are amazing!
Great find! I have never seen one in person, and it looks like this fungus has company, how sweet! It's great that you included some of the surrounding floor; it gives this star a great sense of place. Is it growing under a walnut or pecan tree? I think I see a nutshell to the right. Very nicely done.
