Description:

The pied kingfisher (Ceryle rudis) is a water kingfisher and is found widely distributed across Africa and Asia.

There were many of these little birds along the canal bank. They hover over the water before diving for fish.

Habitat:

Seen all the way along the banks of the Kazinga Channel between Lake George and Lake Edward.
