Field Notes

Description:

A very small (8 -10 mm) horned treehopper with deep brown wings. Had two distinct rough-textured horns. The photo shows a medial extension of the pronotum along the back of body.

Habitat:

Notes:

This little hopper was very difficult to study or photograph. It was very aware of my presence and persistently moved to the opposite side of the branch - it moved into sight for a few seconds and then flew away. It was great to see him take flight.
Unfortunately, I could only take the one photo of this hopper.
My thanks to argybee for the ID

Membracidae: Centrotinae: Terentiini

Fabulous looking little creature peeping over the stem - love it's brown velvet hat.
