@Gerardo---that's exactly what I was thinking when I stumbled across it! Wow!
It is well out of P.regius range. There are still more Phidippus that have green chelicerae but given the location I have to agree with the concensus that this is likley P.audax .. cosmopolitan little buggers.
I think this is probably Phidippus audax, although it could also be the very similar looking Phidippus regius. I'd need to see a view of the back to tell for sure, though. If your jumper had black spots on it's abdomen, it was P. audax. If it didn't have the black spots, it was P. regius. You can see a photo of the spots on P. audax here: http://bugguide.net/node/view/508255
Looks like mine is a bit lighter brown than the suggested animal. I uploaded a side view, to possibly make things easier. Looks like the suggestion isn't found here. Darn.
Probably making sure you didn't nick his tasty snack! :)
Thanks for the suggestion! Nope. It kept the prey tucked under its body the whole time.
I was going to suggest the same as KarenL, looks like this one. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/7146297
Great capture by the way - were you able to id it's prey?
I would guess at Phidippus audax based on the green chelicerae.
