Description:

This is an example of the skeletonized form (forma dissectum) of Bronze fern. This specimen was spotted in an area where other grape ferns (including "normal" forma obliquum Bronze ferns), native orchids, and club moss colonies are also well-established - plants that all rely on mycorrhizal association for germination. Compare it to another spotting I made of this species of the normal form (forma obliquum) here: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/819386002
