Field Notes

Description:

Brown dry grass with covered with the white hairs of the expanded racemes.

Habitat:

Found in a recently cleared area.

Notes:

When I first moved here almost 50 years ago Broom Sedge was one of the of the iconic plants of the Fall landscape. A former pasture that was starting to grow up into forest. It is now mostly forest and Broom Sedge is uncommon.
