Description:
Osprey searching for food in the lagoon surrounding Long Caye Island, Lighthouse Reef Atoll. the adult was approximately 2 feet (60 cm) high. The phot to the right is an enlargement.
Habitat:
Caribbean Osprey nest near a body of water providing an adequate food supply.
Notes:
This is one of a mating pair that nested near our lodging. Both passed away of natural causes within a few days of this picture. No Osprey were observed when we returned in June of 2010.
