Uff! Thanks Ismael for the confirmation of the Monarch being in Costa Rica!

In Costa Rica, the local population of monarchs travel between the east and west coasts of the country, and do not intermingle with the populations from the United States or Canada.
According to funet the Monarch is found on the whole continent: http://www.nic.funet.fi/pub/sci/bio/life/insecta/lepidoptera/ditrysia/papilionoidea/nymphalidae/danainae/danaus/index.html#plexippus Look at these shots, I guess the ID is correct: http://www.flickr.com/photos/baztoune/6007119386/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/eduardomena/5156241013/
do you think it's a monarch? but i found it in costa rica, i thought that the southern place they arrive was Mexico
Why not? ;-)... I must admit I have NEVER seen a Monarch myself! But I am pretty sure it is one.
