Description:

Aegocera is a genus of moths of the Noctuidae family with about 20 known species. This one is probably a Aegocera tricolora.

Habitat:

Found at the Mlawula Nature reserve lodge, early morning.

Notes:

http://www.africanmoths.com/pages/NOCTUIIDAE/AGARISTINAE/aegocera%20tri… matches the spotting very well, but when googeling on the scientific name, there are a lot of different pictures found.

Hi Tiz, I think your original ID is correct. Google brings up a lot of images, yes, but most of them are irrelevant.

Might be another Trimen's false tiger (Agoma trimenii).
