Field Notes

Description:

A delicate greyish mushroom about 2 -2.5 cm tall with a 1.5 cm wide cap with ridges radiating from the centre. The centre was yellow and depressed. The cap was flat, perhaps advanced in its maturation.
Stipe appeared smooth and gills were dark almost blackish. The mushroom was shrivelled about an hour later ( pic #5); the centre was still prominent.

Habitat:

urban garden -wood chip/ leaf mulch

Notes:

About 4 mushrooms growing in the one spot. No similar mushroom was spotted elsewhere. These have come-up after heavy rains over the last few days. Have seen these in the same spot before.
Did not see this mushroom in its early stages - cap was not obviously moist at the time the photo was taken.
Would appreciate any help with identifying this mushroom ! thanks.

then P.plicatilis it is! I hope I get to see some more of these so I become familiar with them.....thanks again.
Clive, I think this one is a Parasola sp. Obviously I can't tell whether it is A.auricoma or A.plicatilis without microscopic observation and expert opinion. So, I'll leave it as Parasola sp. Thanks.
Thanks Clive - I was hoping you'd help. I will research further. I am a little disappointed I didn't catch them earlier !
