Could be, the genus russula is also very variable, could be one of the few species of this genus: vesca;lutea;luteotacta;emetica / emetica var. silvestris. At some species faded the red cap-color. Just by a look at the picture, could you just choose a name, therefore your expierience would be important: what ground/habitat was it, (not recommend for everyone) what taste had it: was it hot/spicy after some seconds (a little bit, wouldn't kill you /dont swallow); what smell/odor.?? here this link has the same references pictures as i have home in one of my nl-mushroom-books, good for identification!!-->[Deze site biedt de mogelijkheid om een soort te identificeren ("determineren"). De familienaam is ongetwijfeld goed, maar volgens mij kan het net zo goed ook de braakrussula zijn. http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Braakrussula
dat zal een russula zijn,kijk eens naar "smakelijke russula - russula vesca".
