Field Notes

Description:

Small brown skink. It has black side stripe, bordered with thinner yellowish stripes. Length up to 25 cm.

Habitat:

Found in almost all granitic islands and is widespread throughout them. Ranges from sea level to mountain mid-altitudes.

Notes:

Distinguihsable from Wright's skink by the colour of the side stripe, which is brown in Wright's. Also Wright's skink is apparently absent from large islands with introduced predators.
