Description:
One of several native species known by the common name, Elephant's Foot. The alternating leaves arise along an unevenly pubescent stem on this species. Characteristic to the genus, what appears to be one average-sized flower is several small tubular blooms arranged in a cluster.
Habitat:
Native to the southeastern United State. Habitat - Low woods, ravines, streambanks, moist thickets, open woods.

Growing on a wooded drive near an old church and cemetery
