Field Notes

Description:

The adult is mainly black with a strong brown tinge on the crown, the back of the neck, upper back and chest.The face and upper breast are bright yellow, with narrow white and broader red lines forming a lower border. The upper tail is white and the lower abdomen is red. The legs are blue.

Habitat:

They live in the canopy of rainforests and semi-open, and also enter to clear remaining trees.

Notes:

in captivity at the "jardin de las cataratas de la Paz"

si, en pacuare tambien habia unos mas pequeños y oscuros no tan coloridos como este
si, yo tambien los vi sueltos volando (mucho mejor que enjaulados) por la zona de la reserva Pacuare (al sur de tortuguero), pero siempre que los veia no tenia la camara!
si, en una jaula bastante grande pero aun asi, encerrado...
