Arctiidae, Pericopinae, Hypocrita arcaei. So we got some IDs at the same time! Cool!!
dora, if you look at the link for the hypocrita you will see in photo 11 the red markings at the costal margin is clearly visible along with the tiniest white color at the apex of the wing and naturally, the irridescent blue of the head and body.
Aunt...I actually did the I.D. from my butterfly's and moth guide for CR. However, I couldn't find a common name for this species. Great spotting. Soooo pretty!
