Field Notes

Description:

This vine has completely enveloped a trellis. It is full as a bush and covered in red blossoms.

Habitat:

A lush yard near Lake Killarney in central Florida. The trees are tall, bushes thick and plants well-watered. It's a very friendly place for flora and fauna. This spider was in a far corner of the yard, atop some bushes in the shade of a tree.

Species ID Suggestions

Clerodendrum sp.

Definitely a Clerodendrum species, but not sure on philippinum. Looks a bit like splendens, but not certain on that, either. Thanks for the help!
This looks like Clerodendrum philippinum with the petals already fallen off and only the red bracts remain...
