Field Notes

Description:

This caterpillar was crawling across a table on my patio. It was only about an inch long and just looked like a white caterpillar with tooth-shaped bumps on it's back. I put it on a coleus leaf and took this pic with the macro setting. Have no idea what it is.

Species ID Suggestions

White-marked Tussock Moth

Orgyia leucostigma

Comments (4)

Erebidae, Lymantriinae, Orgyia leucostigma. Although this one is out of my usual geographical range, I think it is the ID of this very cool moth.
Lovely first spot! Welcome to Project Noah Linda!
