Description:

An invasive insect species originally from Mexico and Central America, the harlequin bug has spread throughout much of the United States. It feeds primarily on brassicas but also regularly attacks important crops such as tomato, potato, and fruit trees.

Notes:

In many bayside locations, the invasive wild mustard is very well established. Many plants were covered with the harlequin bugs. Interesting to see the invasive insects thriving on the invasive plants.
