Field Notes

Description:

This colony sporadically covered a square yard in a coniferous forest. Individuals were 1-3 inches. This club shaped fungus is characterized by shape, beige-tan color, and no branching. Found in coniferous forest.

Habitat:

Spotted under a large Ponderosa pine tree in a coniferous forest in the Cascade foothills of eastern Washington.
