Description:

One of the most common orchids native to eastern North America - these small white flowers. The common name refers to the leaves, which may seem to resemble snakeskin - a similarity that in folk medicine would suggest its use as a cure for snakebite. (You can see leaves from another specimen in my previous spotting here: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/417626088 )
