Field Notes

Description:

Large white bird about 4.5 ft. in length. Adult had black bill and feet. Young are gray in color. This Trumpeter Swan had a collar identification tag, see notes below.

Habitat:

Spotted at Pine Lake, Tamarac NWR. Habitat: lakes & ponds with beds of sedges, cattails, bulrush.

Notes:

A pair of Trumpeter Swans and 4 large gray young swans were spotted on Pine Lake. One Trumpeter Swan had a collar identification tag # 4L. Information was reported to USGS Bird Banding Lab.
