Field Notes

Description:

Small green-yellow and grey bird with distinctive white ring surrounding the eye. Feeding on Marmalade bush flowers.

Habitat:

2700 metres high in tropical mountains southern India

Notes:

This spotting thrilled me at the time because I was certain it was a bird from home; the Silvereye. I have since found it is a different species Zosterops lateralis. (Plant is Streptosolen jamesonii)
