Description:

these are very small wasps. they make hanging nests. they are in the paper wasp class. they are no longer than a 1/2" long

Habitat:

tropical dry forest in NW Costa Rica one month into the six month dry season

Actually, these wasps are super docile. There is a lot of trade wind here right now and the palm fronds move so much they become accustomed all the movement around them. You can get within 6 inches of the nest before they become wary. Thanks for your comments! Happy New Year Laura!
Wow, you're brave to get that close! Or, I guess I'm just that scared of wasps haha! THey are gorgeous things though, nice spotting!
