Description:

these little eggs are just that...tiny. the actual egg can't measure more than 1 or 2mm and they are connected to the plant by a little string. they were laid on a dead banana trunk leaf.

Habitat:

tropical dry forest in NW Costa Rica one month into the six month dry season.

Yep, this are Chrysopidae characteristic eggs. I have seen adults laying the eggs, very interesting shape.

Lacewing eggs! They're in the order Neuroptera. The only lacewings I've had much contact with have been those in the family Chrysopidae, but I'm hesitant to say these eggs are from lacewings in that family.
