Field Notes

Description:

Trifoliate leaves emerging from creeping stolons. Flowers are yellow, while fruits are red.

Habitat:

Forest

Notes:

Apparently the fruit is edible (according to Wikipedia--check some other sources first!), but not very tasteful. I see insects munching on the fruit often, however. This is an introduced species from Asia. Found at Barbara A. Beiser Field Station.
