Description:

Eastern Giant Crane Fly

rane fly: small to large insects (this one was large) with extremely long, slender legs and narrow wings (these are wider than most). V-shaped structure atop the second thoracic structure. The antennae of the females are thread-like, while those of the males may be feathery or saw-toothed and are longer. There are no ocelli. This is not the Tipula trivittata. I have to o more research on the ID.
