Field Notes

Description:

A red crab with some sand color to help it camouflage itself on sands.
About 10cm wide, 7cm length.
There are tall red structures on it's eyes.
Seems like it is missing some legs.
Possibly a Ghost crab - Ocypode, because similar to the spotting http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/7597447

Habitat:

Found it resting in this small pool of water on the beach of MimpianJadi Resort, Tuaran, Sabah, Malaysia.

Notes:

This is the second large crab I saw that morning.
It was my sister who found it and called me excitedly to see "Mr Krabs" (of Spongebob Squarepants).
I was puzzled at first but soon understood what she meant after I saw it's resemblance with her favorite cartoon character.
>>>Map accuracy : 150m diameter.
