Description:

Family: Erebidae, Subfamily: Erebinae (Underwings, Zales and related Owlets) Length: 34-43 mm. Peppery FW is variable but typically is gray with jagged AM and PM lines bordered with darker brown bands. Median area is often pale. Reniform spot is bold;y outlined white or all white. Black basal dash is usually present. HW is reddish with irregular black bands and pale orange fringe. Host: Oak

Habitat:

Near woodlands and meadow. Came to front porch light
