Description:
Small Dung Beetle, 8 mm long with a green metallic tinge to the thorax. This looks like a female with very small bumps on the head and no horn. Family Scarabaeidae. She has a small brown Mesostigmatid mite attached to one hind leg, mites which are common in dung and often phoretic.
Habitat:
Came to an ultraviolet light in the garden, San Cristobal de Las Casas, 2,200 meters.
