Field Notes

Description:

Medium sized birds which are commonly seen along Uruguay's coastline. They are generally found in large number near ports or fishing boats due to their opportunistic scavenger characteristic. Both black and white seagulls and grey seagulls may regularly been spotted.

Habitat:

Coastline.

Notes:

Several dead fish can genearlly be seen in the port where the picture was taken and although they sometimes find for some laying around piece, they are commonly seen catching fresh fish from the water.

Really? Amazing! Their bodies do look the same but the colours are SO different that I didn´t imagine... So, this means that as they become adult gulls they even change the colour of their beak; good to know that... Thank you very much once more Liam =)
That one should be a 1st cycle Kelp Gull (younger bird).
according to the information that I found a kind of grey gall breed may be found in the chilean pacific coast but it doesn´t look like this one...
