Yes Emma, various types of flowers are used for different festivals. Eg. Rose are used for various functions, marigold for festivals, Shewanti for garlands etc.

Yes, you are right. All the colors of Gerberas are in great demand. Marigold have demand during festivals only like Dassera, Diwali, Gudi Padwa etc. And farmers also get good price during festivals only.

White ,yellow,orange and red must be the top selling colors? They last pretty long! Marigolds are in demand too ,aren't they? People make "torans" out of them .

No, Gerberas do not have any fragrance. But flowers are available in various colors. Anyone can take commercial production by planting BULBS in polyhouse under controlled atmosphere. Demand for these flowers is tremendous. Flowers are having long stems and these flowers can last long, may be upto 15 days in flower pots.
