Field Notes

Description:

Slightly larger sparrow. Pale streaks on chest, bold white throat and yellow lores make this stand out from other sparrows. Dark double black stripes on the crown and one thin line behind the eyes. Sometimes confused with Song Sparrow but they have a dark mustache and bolder streaks on underside.

Habitat:

Spotted in a community garden

Notes:

Late winter bird.
