looks like a hard clam, mercenaria mercenaria. I recall seeing a documentary about the gulls, I believe it was NC, that took the clams high above the roadways and dropped them to crack them open. Pretty clever.
Hi matimar1 - I think it is some kind of clam but I'm not sure. I don't know much at all about sealife.
