Field Notes

Description:

The males of these beautiful Dragonflies "have a powder blue thorax and abdomen pruinescent blue when mature." (Wiki)

Habitat:

Flying low over the river that wasn't flowing. The river (pic 2) leads to the top of Adcock Gorge, along the Gibb River Road.

Notes:

There were a number of Dragonflies and a couple of Damselflies out and about on this morning. All of them flying over the water, along the edge, some were laying eggs, others defending territories, and the rest just seemed to be cruising around.
